Admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gill Nagar is through

  1.   Admission test or
  2.   Transfer from other Kendriya Vidyalayas or
  3.   From schools recognized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

      Eligibility for admission or priority would not by itself will secure admission in the school or a class.

      31st July is the last date for admission except when the student is on Transfer from a Kendriya Vidyalaya.

      All necessary documents such as Transfer Certificate from the previous school, original Date of Birth Certificate (for class I) are to be attached with the Admission form. Non-Kendriya Vidyalaya Transfer Certificate is to be countersigned by the District Education Officer of the concerned District.

      Registration form is likely to be issued in the first week of January every year for admission to class I. The last date for submission of the Registration form is likely to be last week of February every year. (For more details, see the flash updates)

      The date for issuing Registration form will be decided by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi which will be notified by the school in time.

      The cost of Registration form is Rs. 100/-

      Admission Test will be conducted by the school on the dates notified by the Principal , as per the schedule given by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

      Eligible candidates will be admitted, in order, as per the following priorities:

  1. Children of Transferable Central Government Employees including Ex-Servicemen
  2. Children of Non-transferable Central Government employees including Ex-servicemen.
  3. Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous bodies/Public sector Undertakings/Institutes of higher learning of the Government of India.
  4. Children of transferable State Government employees.
  5. Children of non-transferable employees of State Government.
  6. Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous bodies/Public sector Undertakings/Institutes of higher learning of State Government.
  7. Children of any other category.
  8.       Eligible age for Admission

          A child must be at least 5 years old as on 31st March in the Academic year in which admission is being sought in Class I. For subsequent classes , the eligible age would be reckoned again with reference to 30th September with proportionate increase over 5 years.

          The upper age-limit for admission is 2 years more than the minimum age. No child would be eligible for admission in a class if the age is more than this maximum age prescribed. The maximum age would be relaxed by 2 years for handicapped children.

    Admission Test

          In Class I, there will be no Admission Test. The children will be admitted based on the priorities for admission, if found eligible.

          For admission to Class II to Class X, Admission Test will be conducted in the following subjects:

    Classes Subjects for Admission Test

    VI to VIII English, Hindi, Mathematics, General Knowledge  (Science & Social Science)
    IX & X English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science & Social Science

    05 more students could be admitted in each section/class provided such candidates are the wards of Central Govt. employees belonging to Category I. In addition to the children of parents transferred during the year, the children of parents belonging to Cat. I transferred during previous years will also be considered eligible for admission if seats are available after accommodating the children of Category-I parents transferred during the particular academic session.
